Princess Basma checks on Goodwill Campaign patients from Amman, Zarqa

14 ,May 2026

HRH Princess Basma Bint Talal, chairperson of the Higher Committee of the Goodwill Campaign, on Sunday checked on campaign patients recovering at Abdul Hadi and Ibn Al Haytham hospitals following a series of successful free surgeries.

Accompanied by members of the campaign’s higher committee, the princess visited patients from eastern Amman and Zarqa who underwent various operations performed by volunteer consultants and specialists participating in the campaign.

She was also briefed on the procedures and patients’ medical conditions, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The surgeries were carried out under the “Lamsat Shifa” programme as part of a partnership between the campaign and private healthcare institutions, implemented by the Jordanian Hashemite Fund for Human Development (JOHUD), to provide specialised medical services for underprivileged families across the Kingdom.

Princess Basma highlighted the campaign’s partnerships with the private medical sector through 17 agreements with hospitals and medical centres, noting eight years of cooperation with Abdul Hadi Hospital and 18 years with Ibn Al Haytham Hospital.

She said that the partnerships reflect Jordan’s values of solidarity and volunteerism and help provide patients from vulnerable families with dignified healthcare and a life free from pain and suffering.

The princess also praised the expertise of Jordan’s private healthcare sector and its role, alongside the public sector, in boosting Jordan’s position as a regional medical tourism destination.

Director of Abdul Hadi Hospital Samer Abdul Hadi stressed the hospital’s commitment to supporting the programme’s humanitarian goals and expanding cooperation with the campaign.

Meanwhile, board member at Ibn Al Haytham Hospital Haitham Abu Khadijeh stressed the hospital’s continued support for the campaign and its medical programmes due to their “positive” impact on beneficiaries.

Director of Education at the hospital Edward Saqqa described “Lamsat Shifa” as “a great humanitarian achievement,” saying it demonstrates how charitable work can transform lives and ease suffering.

Head of the campaign’s medical team Nayef Abdalallat said that the campaign has served around 98,300 patients across Jordan since launching its medical programme in 1998 through free medical days and treatment interventions.

He added that the campaign also supports families through emergency aid, home maintenance, educational grants and assistance for income-generating projects, while continuing to organise specialised medical days nationwide and build healthcare partnerships.
