Her Royal Highness Princess Basma bint Talal, Chair of the Higher Committee of The Goodwill Campaign, handed over the campaign’s assistance today, Tuesday, to the targeted groups in Amman.

At Jordan Secondary School for Boys, Her Royal Highness handed over food parcels provided by the campaign to around 100 women heading households, and distributed winter clothing to 50 boys and girls in the area.

At Al-Fata Al-Yateem Charity Association in Jabal Al-Nuzha, Her Royal Highness met the women working in the association’s sewing workshop and was briefed on its work.

Her Royal Highness announced the campaign’s support for the workshop through equipment and supplies to develop and sustain its work.

At Al-Siraj Al-Muneer Charity Association in the Hashemi Al-Shamali area, Her Royal Highness reviewed the work of the association’s productive kitchen and announced the campaign’s support for the kitchen with modern equipment and supplies, as well as assistance to provide 100 iftar meals for distribution to families in need benefiting from the association’s programmes.

Her Royal Highness affirmed the campaign’s continued commitment, stemming from its charitable and humanitarian objectives and with the support of its partners, to directing its programmes and initiatives towards contributing to improving the lives of families in need, providing their essential requirements in مختلف circumstances, and supporting national efforts in this regard.

In the presence of the Assistant Governor of the Capital, Dr Saleh Al-Kilani, and a number of members of the campaign’s Higher Committee, Her Royal Highness praised the initiatives and programmes of the targeted associations and the efforts of their staff in assisting families in need and providing employment opportunities through productive projects that create jobs.

Her Royal Highness explained that economic empowerment is an important factor in supporting Jordanian women and strengthening their role in the development process, stressing the campaign’s commitment to supporting these efforts and contributing to the provision of decent employment opportunities for women that are compatible with their abilities and aspirations.

For their part, the Chair of Al-Fata Al-Yateem Charity Association, Yasser Abu Salem, and the Chair of Al-Siraj Charity Association, Dr Wijdan Al-Abdalat, expressed their pride in the partnership with The Goodwill Campaign, praising its efforts in assisting vulnerable groups and families and in enabling women and associations to establish sustainable productive projects.

Al-Fata Al-Yateem Charity Association was established in 2009 and provides services to around 150 orphans through monthly sponsorships and in-kind assistance to 420 families.

The association also runs a sewing workshop employing five women, with its products marketed in local markets and through made-to-order sales.

Al-Siraj Al-Muneer Charity Association provides care for 620 orphan families in the area through monthly assistance and sponsorships, while also implementing, through its productive kitchen project, a programme to provide meals for families in need.
