ZENID training
ZENID's main strength lies in its
track record for the design and delivery of training for social development.
Over the past 10 years, ZENID has gained considerable experience with different
types of training designed to meet the development needs of clients from
governmental, non-governmental organizations, youth groups, individuals and the
private sector.
ZENID's training methods are
hands-on and participatory, focusing on exercises which reinforce learning
through the application of new knowledge and skills to realistic work contexts.
ZENID staff are recognized for the effective use of new approaches such
as group work, peer research, learner-led presentations, simulation games,
field visits, role play and team work.
Through the delivery of training to
those who serve poor and marginalised communites, ZENID aims to increase social
integration and to enhance equal access of opportunities for all individuals.
Training at ZENID covers five major
areas:
Community development.
Early childhood education.
Management and leadership skills.
Training of trainers.
Special education.

Tailor-made training
The majority of ZENID's training is tailor-made to meet the client's
specific needs. A
training-needs assessment is carried out with the client organization prior to
the training in order to identify training needs linked to the specific work
environment. A course is then designed which builds the knowledge, skills and
attitudes that would build competencies, in turn, contribute to improved
performance.
Increasingly, ZENID's staff provides complementary organization
development support to ensure that participants are able to apply what they
have gained in their work environment.

ZENID's
approach to learning
ZENID is
committed to the principals of learner-centered training. ZENID emphasizes the links between theory and
practice, drawing on extensive field operations to illustrate their programmes,
and helping participants to make the connection to their own work. ZENID staff
strive to acquire new effective training tools and research skills by investing
in their own learning through the active participation in national, regional
and international programs, conferences and workshops.
Through
these exchange opportunities of learning, ZENID also builds stronger networks
with international development organizations thereby keeping in touch with
international best practice and enhancing
cooperation and promoting partnerships.
In line
with international standards, ZENID monitors and evaluates its training against
agreed performance indicators in order to improve the effectiveness of its
work.
