Mobilising resources for those in need
The Queen Alia Social Work Competition

Background
In an effort to create general awareness on national issues, JOHUD launched the Queen Alia Social Work Competition in 1995. The issues of the competition vary from year to year, but focus on social development, environmental and health issues.  The theme for 2008 is environmental awareness

The project targets young people, and uses innovative approaches to get the message across in the form of a quiz, which  is distributed to schools, universities as well as community based organisations. Annually, 650,000 people participate in the competition and proceeds are used to provide services and projects to support people with special needs.
