Project purpose
The purpose of this project is to help poor small-scale farmers in Jordan
to respond effectively to the opportunities and challenges provided by the
Euro-med (and other) Free Trade agreements.

Main components
To strengthen farmers'
associations, both local as well as national, to be more informed on issues related
to the Euromed agreements and able to respond to them effectively
To enable small-scale
farmers to meet the challenges and take advantage of the
opportunities provided by the agreement, for example, on issues like
quality standards, certifications, market information etc.
To strengthen linkages connecting small scale farmers to institutional support for a wide range of
livelihood opportunities
To create mechanisms to ensure that the concerns of small scale farmers are represented (directly and indirectly) and responded to in
the policy process
An enabling
environment in which JOHUD and its partners and allies can advocate
effectively for the interests of trade justice in all its forms

Farmers forum and set of recommendations guiding JOHUD work in agriculture
JOHUD plays key role in support to Farmers Union
Key role in informing decision to set up of Souq al Ard - JOHUD's farmers market
Stronger linkages between JOHUD and export farmers leading to stronger supply chains
Research into labour conditions in Jordan Valley
Initiation of study into ethical credit for farmers
