80 guests enjoyed a delicious "brunch française" at JOHUD's Bawadi Cafe on June 24th. Through the sale of tickets, copies of a recipe book, and the sale of flowers and fruit, the brunch raised more than JD800 for food security projects. The event was catered by women from "Shams Jordanie", a French NGO currently registering in Jordan. They will use the funds they raised to provide food and social activities for elderly people without family support |

The June 24th brunch was the first of many such events planned by JOHUD's Bawadi Cafe, working with the Jordanian Alliance Against Hunger (JAAH).
Representing JAAH at the event, Ms Eman Nimri explained: "With the rising prices of food and fuel, we need to act now to make sure that there is a system of support in place for the most needy when the winter comes. We value the work that the international community is doing here. Today it was the women from the French community who took the lead, but we want to make this a regular event and invite other groups to join us. The fight against hunger is one that involves us all."
