 Working with JOHUD
 Internships at JOHUD
Internships provide young graduates with the chance to apply their skills and knowledge into practice in real-life situations. JOHUD is an excellent environment in which to go through that process - because we have a sufficiently large portfolio of work to match the interests of the intern with the needs of the organisation.  As a result, JOHUD can usually find a relevant and rewarding task for young interns to work on specific projects for a short length of time (usually 3 months). Recent internship projects have included:

collecting and writing case study stories to include on the website
marketing Souq al Ard to new audiences
helping raise awareness about the role of permaculture to livelihoods
follow up for new enterprises

Volunteer opportunities at JOHUD
The various units of JOHUD also attract volunteers to work closely with  beneficiaries in Amman and in the various CDCS across the country.  In particular, the Princess Basma Youth Resource Centre attracts youth volunteers working as mentors on the INTEL Computer Clubhouse in Hashemi Shamali and in Mleih.
At the CDC level there is a huge demand for volunteers, and, luckily, a matching supply. All the CDCs rely on the spirit of volunteerism within the local community to run the committees, facilitate the youth and kids clubs, to organize events and to make sure that everyone knows about the centre and ca benefit from its work. JOHUD in particular welcomes volunteers with specific skills such as ICT training, language teaching, the ability to work with the disabled etc. In that way, skills are targeted to those who will most benefit.
