JOHUD’s operations
JOHUD has more than 450 employees, and therefore has in-house professional expertise in most areas of sustainable development.
In order to meet the needs of the community and of our partners, we have established specialised units which are able to provide services tailored to particular needs.

The Queen Zein al Sharaf Institute for Development (ZENID)
ZENID provides a learning environment for development professionals, community activists and volunteers. Drawing on the experience of JOHUD’s staff and associates, ZENID is able to deliver training, research and consultancy in almost every aspect of sustainable human development. ZENID’s expertise in project management ensures that its custom-made programmes are up-to-date and reflect the realities of the field.

The Small Business Development Centre (SBDC)
SBDC promotes economic empowerment through self-employment. SBDC provides non-financial support to entrepreneurs in the form of training, capacity building and advisory services. Where appropriate, SBDC provides access to credit through its loan operation. Since it was established in 1996, SBDC has helped almost 3,000 clients, mostly women, to establish or expand their business, and has provided more than 4,300 loans.

98.5 FM: Radio Farah al Nas

98.5 FM: Radio Farah al Nas is a community radio station that broadcasts daily to the 3 million residents of Amman and Zarqa.  Farah al Nas  is jointly owned by JOHUD and the Jordanian National Commission for Women (JNCW) but operates independently - financially, administratively and in terms of its content.  Farah al Nas aims to provide access to up to date and reliable information and news.  Adopting the slogan: Your Voice, Your Choice, JOHUD encourages community groups to use Radio Farah al Nas to make their own programs, to voice their opinions and to influence decision-makers.

JOHUD also hosts two important national commissions, providing a mechanism for direct linkages between policy makers and the people of Jordan:
The
Jordanian National Commission for Women (JNCW)
and
The Higher Population Council (HPC).
