Capacity building: Training
|
|
In Jordan, human development depends
on human capacity - the knowledge, skills, energy and commitment of individuals
and communities, and the strength of the institutions they create and manage.
One of JOHUD's main activities is to
provide training and capacity building that helps development
professionals, activists and volunteers to pursue their full potential and to
use their capabilities in the service of others. Where possible, JOHUD combines the provision of training with interventions to enhance organisational development, streamlining systems and redirecting the operations towards a stronger client-focus. In this way, newly trained staff are able to apply their skills more effectively and to meet the needs of their clients.
Lesson learning through research and consultancy
To complement the training programme, JOHUD also has extensive experience in commissioned research and consultancy. For more details click here

Training: our approach
Over the years, JOHUD has adapted
its training programmes to meet the demands of a rapidly changing context,
drawing on new knowledge and on technological advances to ensure that its
courses are up-to-date. Through its operational experience, JOHUD has learnt to
adapt international 'best practice' to the local context so that it is socially
acceptable.
JOHUD also undertakes institutional
capacity building, so that an organisation's policies, systems and processes
provide a supportive environment for changes in practice. JOHUD also works with
service providers from government and NGOs to realign their approach towards a
client-focused perspective.
Most of JOHUD's training programmes
are delivered by the Queen Zein Al Sharaf Institute for Development (ZENID)
where the facilities are custom-designed for training activities. ZENID's staff
are recognised for their innovative approach and their dynamic and task-based curricula.
